What to expect on a typical two tank dive

Meeting at the dive shop
Brief check of your certification, experience and gear preferences. If you are renting equipment, we help you find your sizes and adjust everything comfortably.
Quick boat ride
Most reefs are only 5 to 10 minutes from shore. No long transfers, no waiting, no complicated logistics.
First dive
A guided drift dive chosen according to your experience. The current does the work for you, so you can relax and enjoy the reef.
Surface interval
Back on the boat or at the shop depending on conditions. Water and small snacks are provided. This break lasts about 45 to 60 minutes.
Second dive
Usually a shallower, calmer reef or a site with lots of marine life. Perfect for taking photos or simply enjoying the warm blue water.
Return to the shop
Final rinse of equipment, logbook review and a chance to talk about what you saw. You will be back early enough to enjoy the rest of the day in Playa.

Most divers use a 3 mm wetsuit, while many choose shorties in summer.
Visibility
Visibility averages 18 to 30 meters (60 to 100 feet) depending on the season, currents and recent weather. On calm days, the water can be exceptionally clear.
Currents
Reef dives are mainly gentle drift dives. Currents usually move north to south and allow you to relax while the guide leads the group along the reef.
